Guest guest
Greetings Members:My apologies. I really meant to post this article in February however, it may not be too late to start your own gardens of whatever. In addition to http://www.JohnnySeeds.com you can also find organic seeds at http://www.seedsofchange.com. If you live in the Washington, DC Metro Area, MOM carries seeds from Seed of Change.Last year we grew and harvested more than just tomatoes, we had several herbs and I can't begin to convince you (those who've never tried) how much better fresh picked is over store bought. THis year we're adding even more herbs and salad mixes.Try it.Robert Cohen <notmilk wrote: My Summer Garden Begins in February I've been picking the parsley I planted last summer, through Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and picked a bunch yesterday when I made a gallon of delicious gapacho soup. Global warming, or strong roots? Beetsme! Picking fresh parsley turned my thoughts toSpring. This man's favorite hobbies...New YorkYankee baseball and my own New Jersey garden. If you've never before gardened, here is where I suggest you begin: http://www.squarefootgardening.com (A hammer, some wood, a few nails---it's easy!) The cold of winter is the time of seed catalogues. My favorite: http://www.JohnnySeeds.com I will be ordering a dozen varieties of lettuce seed this week, and my family will be eating large green, red, and purple homegrown salads from April through November. In August, the best Jersey tomatoes will garnish salads and transformn into my incredibly tasty raw marinara sauces. The healthiest and tastiest fruits and vegetables are those grown organically in your own garden. Each year, I plant nasturtium flowers (which are wonderful in salads). The perfume from these flowers are nature's best pesticides. Bugs seem to avoid the bouquet, and there is never a need to spray my food with poison. I learned how easy it is to garden by using the "square foot method." All you need to know, as well as photos of my garden are to be found here: http://www.notmilk.com/forum/garden.html Now is the time to start planning. Guest guest
Hi, I would like to know if you knows of any organic farmers that are selling ready to plant veggies..I already have the land and I've been told it's easier for beginners to plant veggies that are already planted and starting to grow as oppose to planting seeds myself and trying to grow them..Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Uruba --- " E. Rice-Fells " <shortydemp wrote: > Greetings Members: > > My apologies.
