Can anyone recommend a decent dentist in the area? We just got dental

insurance and I would like someone who is going to be gentle and perhaps

even keen on the raw food lifestyle!

Thanks,

Shawna

He's listed in the Seattle phone book under Rau John August D.D.S.

He's also listed, along with other good dentists, on the Internet

edition of the Natural Choice Directory at

http://www.naturalchoice.net/sec2/dentists.htm

Phone is 206-622-2380.

Not having a Seattle phone book and limited on the internet I just thought I

would ask a simple question.

Thanks to those who were kind enough to help out with the phone number.

Dear Shari,

Shari, please, accept my apologies. I sought to be humorous. Even I cannot

seem to find it the phone book. It's been 3 years since I spoke with him. He

did an excellent job, I hope you find his address.

Sincerely,

Hey Kevin, don't worry about it. I posted the phone number for her

earlier. I found it in the phone book, on the Internet, and in the

PCC Sound Consumer newsletter. The thought came to me after her post

to you that she might not live in Seattle and not know where he was

located.

Carol asked:

<< does anyone know anything about teeth sealant? >>

You must be new to the list -- we covered this only a few months ago!

I think the general consensus (nothing is ever 100%) is that sealants

are significantly less toxic (and traumatic) than fillings, so it's

worth doing as a preventative. As I understand it, they usually just

seal the molars, because that's where cavities are most likely to

develop. My dentist is a wholistic one, and she heartily recommends

sealants. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say!

Sounds dangerous to skip them. If a cavity is missed, you will loose the

tooth. Is such small dosage worth a mouth full of fakes?

Thanks Kevin, That's a good way to express what I was feeling about the

question.

I would recommend the dentist I have used for several years:

Dr. Paul Rubin 822 NE Northgate Way 206.367.6453

He is more concerned about the patients overall health than any other dentist I

have had. He also sincerely works with whatever concerns you have, and shows a

greater respect for patients than any other dentist I have had.

He has mentioned to me the importance of reducing x-ray exposure to the absolute

minimum. So if there was ever a dentist that you could work with to find the

least exposure to x-rays that still allows responsible tooth care, he would be

the one.

May your day be filled with clarity, grace, progress, and warm laughter,

Roger
