Does anyone know of a good approach to counseling people on

disease/nutritional deficiencies via the raw foods diet? Basically, I

want to be able to spread the word on how to create health by 5 simple

approaches-proper hydration, diet, exercise, sunlight, and doing

something we love ie hobbies. What sort of qualifications would I need

to speak to groups of people via classes or seminars about these

subjects in detail? I don't necessarily agree with the approaches

taken by many traditional nutritional counselors on organic food not

being any different than conventional, including cooked foods in the

diet, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I see so many

people in my reflexology practice who are chronically dehydrated and

malnourished but I do not have the authority as a reflexologist

to " prescribe " anything ie more water consumption or more greens in

their diets.

We can speak to anyone and share our experiences without any problem and we can all legally educate people to healthy preventative principles - prevention. We cannot legally diagnose, prescribe, etc. The key is to be a wellness educator or some other similar name. Never tell people what to do, but you can share what YOU would do in their situation....

Thank you. That helps. I plan to do power point presentations, which I haven't done since college, but the background for my classes will come from Victoria Boutenko and many others in the raw food community. Yes, I tell folks that I have a degree as a Natural Health Counselor via correspondence course with the College of Natural Health founded by Dr. Joel Robbins. I've also been counseled by him. So that training and all my own reading and experience is my background. I also have certification as a Digestive specialist from the Loomis Institute, however don't have a certificate to show because they can't legally give me one till I get a degree from an accredited school. So... this fall I will start my on-line masters degree in human nutrition with Bridgeport Univ. in CT. I have also worked for a year with a chiropractor doing consultations.

It is important to be upfront and, in fact, to tell people that your aren't a Dr. or a licensed dietician. I also have people sign an authorization form saying that they understand that I am teaching wellness and not a Dr. prescribing or diagnosing, etc. I'll be glad to send you a copy of mine if you want to email me off group.
