Help! Massage Therapist Needed in Baltimore area

Hi, Bree,

 

Thanks for your initiative in finding a specialist in the NMT area; I appreciate your honesty in asserting you don't practice it yourself. After I posted my Raw Soul message on Fri., I web-searched myself & found the MD Center for Integrative Medicine, located in Towson, about 12 miles from my house, where they practice NMT among other types of massage. I've heard of them before & they offer a 3-visit discount of $60/hr. below their standard rate of $70/hr. Renate's rates look pretty reasonable & I like her integrative approach w/chiropractic, which I've found very helpful in the past, both for asthma & a similar problem to this one I have now w/my right arm. The pain has become constant over the past 2-3 weeks, spiking in sharp rushes of agony many times throughout the day & night. I suspect the ice may have done more harm than good, not to mention the predictable hazards of my job in Social Security. The MCIM is uch closer to home than Columbia, but I'll play it by ear. I expect to visit this place at least 3x, but pray that my arm will be in full function before Dec. 27 when I leave for Hawaii for a week. Thanks again for your concern.

I'm a massage therapist, however I'm not certified in neuromuscular massage therapy. I quickly searched on the web and the below link if for someone in Columbia, MD which is very close to Baltimore. Maybe you can give her a call to see if she can help.

Paul St. John is the person who teaches neuromuscular therapy to people who are already certified massage therapists.. He "invented" it (not really, but can't think of a better word) by combining therapy that he learned from the Montagnard people of Viet Nam with a therapy that he learned from a respected friend (whose name I have forgotten), and his own techniques. Paul learned the techniques from the Montagnard people when he was in the Green Berets during the Viet Nam war. I was very fortunate that he was my massage therapist during the 70s when I lived in Florida, and again in the 90s, when I moved back there.
