Guest guest Posted March 25, 2007 Report Share Posted March 25, 2007 Tanikka, I want to personally and openly thank you for your service and efforts to help keep us Raw Foodists on track by providing affordable, fresh, and organic produce on a weekly basis. Members, I have to tell you that last week we picked up our first freggie box from Tanikka and I was really taken with the awesome overall freshness of the items in the box. Nothing that we ever picked up from Lancaster was this fresh. I would even dare to say that the quality of the produce from Tanikka was comparable to if not fresher than MOM. In the past our shopping days were (when on the SAD) every weekend chasing coupons and sales. Then (when on cooked veg) maybe once a week. Once transitioned to raw, we shopped on as needed basis. We've since learned that once you take care of the staples (nuts, seeds, sundried items, lemons, garlic, ginger, avos, kale, celery, carrots, oranges, apples, etc.) the rest comes down to a science. By the way, have any of you made your own raw tahini yet? It's great! Just like and as easy as making your own nut butters, plus it's cheaper. Any rate, I am calling on as many of you who are in or near the D.C. Metro area to concider supporting Tanikka in her efforts. She is also badly in need of a more permanent space for pick -up. Her business has great growing potential. With that said, take another look at her list for this week and give her a call. You won't regret it. Wednesday for Conventionals (except for whats on the list avaible for both days) and Organics on Fridays. Pick up times are from 6:45pm- 7:45 pm on both days.
