Guest guest
Hi everybody, This email is sent to you on behalf of Laura Shelton, who is coordinating this event. Here's the plan. We are planning to bring as many raw lasagnas as possible to the EarthSave potluck on June 14, 6pm. We are using the Raw Truth Restaurant recipe. Each person will bring one pre-made (room temperature) lasagna ingredient. This is truly a group effort. Here's what you do: 1) Call Laura Shelton with the ingredient you wish to bring. Right now, she is needing sauce-makers and cheese-makers. (and possibly more pans/serving utensils) 425-881-7757 2) Show up at Unity Church basement with your ingredient by 5:30 to assemble the lasagnas. 3) We may wish to bring an additional raw dish along with our ingredient, as there may not be enough raw food for us to eat!!! That lasagna is sure to disappear fast!! Let's all turn out for this fabulous opportunity to spread the message! There may even be a surprise speaker in store for us. What's that? A raw restaurant? Stay tuned....
Guest guest
I am sorry to say I will not attend any more EarthSave events. Two (yes, just two) members of the ES board have taken it upon themselves to remove two people from the EarthSave membership. And one is a good friend. He is accused of being too aggressive when he hugs. He was not given a chance to defend himself and he was given no notice, just that he can no longer attend ES functions. (The other man was said to have ideas not in line with ES.) I questioned him about that as I thought ES was open to the public. He says that now their functions are “for EarthSave members and invited guests”. I for one will no longer attend nor support EarthSave. They have a great message, but their latest actions smack of elitism to me. Guest guest
I'd like to encourage everyone to attend the EarthSave potluck, regardless of recent occurrences. Both people recently removed from the board of directors are my friends. I do not like what happened and do not know all the details. Some mistakes may have been made by the board. Boycotting a potluck will do more harm to those attending who wish to learn more about raw food than to the board of directors. This is the first potluck dedicated to raw vegan food that EarthSave Seattle has held. Not too long ago, there was a scheduled speaker who was to talk about raw food. There was a very large turn out. Larger than normal. Unfortunately, the speaker cancelled. People obviously wanted to learn more about raw food diets. The more raw foodists we have in attendance next week, the more people there will be to answer questions about raw food, as well as to introduce people to Raw Seattle. A large turnout will also send a strong message to EarthSave that they need to focus on raw food, at least as part of the information they regularly share with people. So, everyone who is available, please be present for this potluck. You can make a bigger difference if you attend. We can voice our grievances in other ways. I am sure the board of directors (those that remain) are already getting an earful and will hopefully resolve this matter. EarthSave is an international organization, has a presence in many cities around the globe and helps to educate people to move towards a plant-based diet. I still support the organizations goals. I just don't support the boards recent actions. Jeff Rogers >I am sorry to say I will not attend any more EarthSave events. Thanks for your note! I felt it was important to say. I did forget one thing... Our own Michele Rogalin will be the speaker for the evening. Let's all go to support her!
