Hi Tim-

Picked up your message, so am including some sources for your answer

that would be more in depth than my own:

Check out the webpage www.sunfood.net/coconut-butter.html,which has

an article by David Wolfe on it; also NFL carries a book by Bruce

Fife entitled " Healing Miracles of Coconut Oil " . Wolfe also speaks

about it in an interview of " Just Eat An Apple Issue #16, if you have

one around, but basically reprises the sunfood.net article.

Just a few things I personally use it for are: Improving digestion,

quick energy, aiding absorption of calcium, magnesium, & fat soluble

vitamins, suppoting thyroid function (I quit taking thyroid meds

months ago after many years of being diagnosed as hypothyroid),

support & aid to the immune system, improved skin texture- also since

using externally on the skin after my shower & scrub with an ayate

cloth, I have noticed a definite improvement in skin suppleness &

feel.

It is not ground up coconut meat, but the oil itself is separated out-

NFL's is from Fiji & processed at very low temp's in a traditional

way which preserves the goodness, & tastes delicious; I do also use

Omega Nutrition's raw one as well, but only as a skin oil.

It is solid below 78 degrees, which is why some refer to it as

butter, and is a saturated fat with no cholesterol.

I add some each morning to my big breakfast smoothie (about 2 TBSP)

after I warm it slighty in a bowl of water to liquefy, then pour it

in the Vitamix with the other stuff.

Hope this info helps you a bit. Gideon.

Somehow I missed the first round of who wants some coconut butter, I saw some

of the replies so I got the jist of it. I'd like two of them if they are not

all spoken for.

Thanks

Socorro
