Guest guest
I feel fortunate to have been led to the Sun Raw web site on Friday (thank you, Mark) so that I could plan to stop at the Vita Bar on my way home from Vancouver BC on Sunday to attend the Italian Feast. Karen did a great job in presenting her class and the food was absolutely delicious! The Lavender Vanilla Kreem Puffs were especially beautiful and will make a special dessert any time! I can see that Sun Raw is going to be a success! I am certainly looking forward to driving up for the next class on the 24th, and hope to see the place packed! Hurray for Karen! Guest guest
Hey Annette and all, For those of you who didn't attend Karen Parker's Food Prep class, the " Italian Feast " , yesterday afternoon at the Vita Bar, you missed a fantastic experience. The food was literally a feast 'for the eyes' as well as the palate. And Karen's elegant 'way of being' added a beautiful poetic human element to the class. Her natural grace in front of the group set the participants at ease while still challenging them with information and raw foods preparation skills delivered on the wings of love. Karen, to me, represents the needed evolution of raw foods information combined with an organic spirituality. She has gone 'one up' on any previous raw foods preparation presentations I've ever seen. As a bird in flight, not thinking, but rather doing what comes naturally, she moved along from course to course with the ease of someone truly in her element. This, unfortunately, has become quite rare to witness in humans these days. I was inspired by her light to be who I am, to soar to new heights simply because it's what I'm supposed to do. Thanks for the reminder, Karen. I rushed home to write. Just watching Karen at work in her element would have been worth the price of admission. (Sliding scale - it's worth it!!) And just imagine where we will be as we all truly support each other when our souls begin to ignite in carrying out our respective purpose, our missions of service! But add to this the fact that Karen 'delivered' with the most sumptuous, delectable raw foods feast I've ever had the pleasure of consuming. The 'Pasta Putanesca' was, decidedly, the best prepared gourmet raw foods dish I've ever eaten. (And, after two years raw, I had become one of those snobby mono-foods people Not anymore, at least not all the time The most basic ingredients, when combined with Karen's alchemy, essence, and love, became unified in a symphony of color and flavor and passion reminiscent of a raw version of " Like Water for Chocolate " . Neither heavily salted nor drowning in garlic as is common with some of the more popular 'transitional' recipies, Karen's food sang to me of life. Her amazing dishes had all the intrigue of the famous classic recipies without the rich food 'hangover' element. So this was an experience that could be thoroughly appreciated by the long-time raw foodist as well as newer comers and those trying gourmet raw food recipies for the first time. Move over J-----o and all others who have done such a great job promoting raw foodism with your delectable recipies. There is a new player on the scene! Karen's approach and her raw foods preparation are going to take the world by storm. This is a tumult that the world is now ready for. And Karen is right here in Seattle! I can't wait until her raw restaurant opens. Let's all support her to get that off the ground as soon as possible. In the meantime, she caters! Let's not let that opportunity slide by. " Sun Raw " and Karen - all the way! Spread the word!! Don't miss her next class! Sign up early, because I can't imagine the Vita Bar (8334 Ranier Avenue S.) not being completely filled when the word gets out between now and the February 24 class, " The Easy Gourmet " . Get all the details at www.sunraw.com I barely touched on the details of the heavenly food. Others who were there... please post your impressions and share your experience. Guest guest
Dear Resplendent Raw People: your presence, the kindness of your words and the ebullience of your encouragement are incredibly supportive. I am grateful to the many spirited folks I saw on Sunday- each of you contributing your wisdom in a way as individual as each of you... This (our interactions, communications, sharing, etc.) is the stuff of Community, of positive and quantum change. This is also the intention behind Sun Raw, beyond food and consumption, and into a life-giving celebration of ourselves and one another. I am, in essence, very moved and humbled by all of you, and completely embrace your vigilance to adhere to a LIFEstyle and LIFE paradigm that is conscious and supportive of all beings with whom we share this planet. And to those " noisy " people who were so moved to converse throughout the presentation, you too are especially loved and appreciated. I hope to see you next time!
