Guest guest
hi folks, i got the following from another list. check it out. norm )~ Hi All, i haven't had much to write lately, but thought I would pass this info along: Another group I'm in sent a notice that has a new marketing policy which will lead to unbelievable spam to our mailboxes. I checked it out and saw on my "Marketing Preferences" for that each box asking for info to be sent to me for various topics had been checked "Yes" (I'd say there were 10 to 15 boxes). Also there were two boxes asking if I wanted snail mail and phone calls (also both checked "yes") If you want to change your preferences, 1. go to your profile page -http://profiles./(your id name follows this right slash--no parentheses, I just put them here to indicate this note) 2. click on acct. info- in upper right of page 3. on the acct info page click on "edit your marketing preferences" 4. this is where I saw everything had been checked off as yes--you can now switch them to no...also make sure to go all the way down to change your snail mail and phone "yesses"

I believe most companies will not just check them off on their own, but they will do it when you visit those pages. THEN, upon exiting you have to hit a button such as " ACCEPT CHANGES. " If you've accepted the changes, then they GOT YA! And it was YOUR choice! Jeff
