I wish you would stop forcing your teachings upon this Rawseattle

group. Why don't you start your own philosophizers group?

Nizarzaki,

I'm part philosopher, as are many others I know. I enjoy seeing these messages and would prefer they continue. I don't feel forced into anything by them.

Everyone's one's own philosopher, right? Right!

Everyone needs some extra wisdom every now and then.

And that wisdom just doesn't come from nowhere,

it is probably the hardest to get the right one...

These small morsels of daily wisdom are brilliantly

collected/chosen, they are smart, witty, funny,

humorous, raw+organic = make sense, morally

earthbound, metaphysically sound, politically

incorrect, artsy, romantic, relaxing, short,

multilevel, poetic, etc ... they are the first ones

to read everytime I open my mailbox. So, keep on

sending them, Illa88, I don't know what I would do

without them... am I addicted or what:)~~~

Matt, I did notice the irony in the the title of that message. :)

" illa88 " , keep in mind these messages, while interesting and

philosophical, etc. are off-topic. Some people may not appreciate

them. Some people may wish to only receive raw-food related posts.

Personally, since I receive so many emails, I usually just skip your

posts. Unfortunately, this may mean missing raw food related posts of

yours (although I don't recall any). I don't mind having the posts on

our list as I like occasional spiritual/philosophical discussions

(even sayings/quotes, etc.). My main concern is if there are people

on the list who are bothered by the quantity of off topic posts.

The easiest fix to unwanted emails is the delete button.

If anyone has strong feelings regarding these posts (either way,)

please feel free to comment. I'd like to hear peoples thoughts.

Thanks,

Jeff

When you do not want the strong wind to blow do you say quit forcing yourself upon me? Or do you let it touch you and experience it? Or do you simply seek shelter elsewhere that may be more comforting? Your thoughts become your actions, your actions become your deeds and your deeds become your character... let sunshine and laughter fill your cup, joyce ----- Original Messague ----- Jeff Rogers Sunday, September 15, 2002 12:08 AM RawSeattle [RawSeattle] Re: do not force your teaching upon others Matt, I did notice the irony in the the title of that message. :)"illa88", keep in mind these messages, while interesting and philosophical, etc. are off-topic. While I enjoy philosopy, etc., I do not want to receive the Daily Buddhist

Wisdom emails through the RawSeattle email list. Please stay on topic. If

other people would like to receive the Daily Buddhist Wisdom emails (or other

daily emails) they can sign up directly at http://www.beliefnet. BeliefNet

features many religions and beliefs and provides discussion areas.

I have web based email and am getting it through a dial-up connection. This

makes deleting unwanted emails a time consuming task. In fact, I just did a

test and it took 25 seconds to delete 1 email - and that did not include

emptying it from the trash (which still counts against my limited 6MB storage

space). This adds up to a lot of wasted time and annoyance. Therefore, I

think the best solution to unwanted emails sent though a subscription based

email list is to stay on topic.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi all,

I too have been quickly scrolling down the sometimes very long

daily philosophy, looking for rawseattle related posts. Ya know,

actually does provide a " polls " feature. Perhaps, illa88,

you could take a poll and see how many folks appreciate your

posts. I think it is nice that you thought of us. Perhaps polling the

group first after we've had a taste, would be in order.

I appreciate you. Peace and blessings-- Linda

It sounds like there were more out there who have not appreciated the

extra posts, which supports having the separate email list for these

posts. Illa88 and I have already been posting on the new list!

Introduction:

Seattle Daily Wisdom is a list started by the Seattle Raw Foods

Community (http://www.rawseattle.org) for sharing daily inspirations

and quotes of wisdom from religions, philosophy, and even our own

insights into life and truth. These daily inspirations help us to

reflect on life and help us to move forward with greater

understanding as to why we are here and where we are to go, each one

of us on a unique and important path! With daily posts and similar

discussions we hopefully will approach each new day with

understanding and enthusiasm and perhaps get that much closer to

" enlightenment! "

Hello all,

I have been quietly observing our little group for some time now. I almost

never post unless it is something I feel strongly about. Obviously I, as

numerous others, feel stongly about this subject. I agree that the group

members who enjoy these postings should have access to them. I also agree

that those who do not wish to receive these posts, for whatever reason,

should not. I have, however, noticed a trend as I have observed our postings

within the most recent year. Alot of you know each other personally through

the potlucks and other functions you attend. It might be interesting for you

to know that some people, myself included, have never attended any of our

groups functions. I am a rawfoodist, a mother of two, and I also live quite

some distance from you in the Seattle area of our state of Washington. I do

not attend because of inability or lack of interest, but rather because I

observe the very closeness you all display in these postings. It is obvious

that you are all close knit in your associations and like it that way very

much. I am saddened, exceedingly, to also state that you are so close knit,

that you are essentially closed off from others who could perhaps contribute

greatly to the raw community of our state, nation and ultimately our world.

The message that we could reach others with is one of immense worth. Could

we maybe share it exclusively in this forum?? I seek not to offend any of

you, but maybe to make you aware of how you could possibly be viewed by

others. I enjoy our group greatly, when we stay on topic. But as my four

year old daughter onced asked me regarding our non participation in potlucks,

and community functions; Mommy, If your computer friends love our food so

much, why dont they talk about it more? To be boldly honest, I dont attend

because I dont want her or my son to see adults, who claim to be united in

the message of our topic be so divided by the cliques they have digressed

into. Grow up RawSeattle, Its sad when we turn away mothers, children or

someone seeking a good dentist in the area, because we cant see past our own

agendas or range of experience. Lets reach out to the people who could join

our cause, not in to those we are so comfortable with. I thought that was

the purpose of this group???
