Hello everyone,

Well, I think the deadline sneaked up on us and here it is noon

on Sunday, as I write this. Just to let you know, now enough

people have placed orders for me to place an order this week.

(Only $22 order so far).

Let's give it another go, shall we?

If the startup fee, together with the first order is causing a

hardship, I propose this:

THIS WEEK:

Send your $35 membership fee to the Cascade People's Center,

Attn: Robin Russell, and write RawSeattle Co-op on the check.

She will inform me when you have signed up and I will adjust the

website accordingly, so you won't be charged the automatic 10%

surcharge for non-members when you place an order.

This will give our volunteer time to purchase your tubs for

distributing your food into.

NEXT WEEK:

Place and pay for your first order.

Will that spread the funds out a little bit?

I will inform the 3 vendors that we are not placing orders this

week.

Let me know what you want--so we can make it happen!

Peace and blessings--Linda

I have a suggestion-perhaps people are still in the farmers market/ harvest mode (I know I am) and are not currently feeling the need for purchasing through the coop yet. However, in a few weeks when we accept the sad fact that the farmer's market does not last forever, we will be happy to take advantage of the next best thing...our own coop. Now that people have some info about the coop, a coming together to discuss it would probably be helpful-say...at a potluck at my house, Sunday Oct. 20 or 27? Instead of it being a rushed, stressful beginning where we confuse (or frustrate) the suppliers, we can get (more) organized to start with a bang, with more people involved. I just think everyone needs to come together on this. Any other suggestions? Asya

linda dear, i hope it was only me alone who somehow

screwed it up, but i filled out an order yesterday,

about $25 bucks worth of stuff, i submitted it, and

even though there was no (re)confirmation about its

success, i hoped it went through .... well, it doesn't

seem to be the case,... anyways, it will take some

time

to get used to the system, to trust it, then all's

gonna end well ... but it's still fun out there at the

market, isn't it ... and most of all, the IDEA is very

important: get the best stuff at the best convenient

price for everybody ... stores' prices are still too

high nowadays ... i spend a lot of time looking for

good stuff all the time, and time is money, and money

matters, too ... youknow/thesamerap... a tt i l a

Attila-- It is not screwed up....just delayed. Perhaps we are waiting

for the farmer's markets to finish? There were only 3 people signed

up, last I looked, and only 1 placed an order--- not enough to go

with, even WITH your order.

Thanks for your feedback---still looking for MORE feedback.

Anybody?

Peace, Linda

Yes, money matters. But are you willing to support the goals of the

co-op (as defined initially anyway) of supporting local farmers,

buying organic, getting FRESH picked, local produce, and THEN price?

The price in some cases may very well be the same as in the store,

but will have the other advantages listed above that the PCC may not

have. Also, the co-op may need to tack on a small markup to keep

afloat. In this case, are you still willing to support it?

This is important feedback. I would like to see a rousing discussion

on this board about these issues. :-)

Anybody?

Hi! I am committed to starting a coop. I had a detox crisis over the weekend but am going to be signing up very soon now that my stomach is settled. (-; I would like to see the coop get started relatively soon now that we have established contacts with the local farmers. This is OUR coop! We can create what we want and we need to commit to it to get it going. So here I go to sign up!

Peace,

Cindy

Hi everyone. I have signed up for the coop. The computer will not let me

place an order though. I missed the expiration date and it is not yet set up

for future orders.

Peace to all,

Cindy

Linda,

I'm still going with Pioneer to get my produce. Primarily because they drop it right on my doorstep. I am interested in the olive oil, but that's a long way to go for one item. I will save up my purchases, but that might take a while.

The other thing I could use is nuts and seeds, will those be available?

Nick
