Guest guest
Greetings, We have been asked if RawSeattle would be interested in tabling at the upcoming EarthSave Turkey-free Thanksgiving. It would require a fee, but that can be as low as $50. My thought is, there are a lot of people out there who are interested in learning more about Raw food. This would be an opportunity to get in touch with them and offer our " wisdom. " We could have flyers, etc. with our website, email list(s), other resources, such as a list of raw websites, a list of raw books (even some actia; copies), and even a list of upcoming events. I'd be willing to chip in on the table cost. If five people were willing to chip in $10 (or 10 at $5), we'd have it covered. There is usually a large crowd of vegetarians at this event, so may be a great opportunity to help them and expand Raw Seattle at the same time! Who's willing to help with the booth: Working the booth Preparing materials Making copies Donating for the booth fee Providing sample books (or does someone have a stock of new books) Either way, let's try to have a good showing from our community. Dana Lyons is performing, so it should be fun. Who's planning to go? Let me know. We may need an extra " raw food " table. Please share your thoughts. Guest guest
Yeah, the fee thing is definitely a problem for us. We aren't even a " not for profit " organization because those kinds of groups generate money! Personally, I sure don't want to get into membership dues, fundraising or any of that, so the only thing we can do is ask for donations when something like this comes up. Earthsave has costs, and they apparently have to pass them along. Welcome to the big city. :-) So far we've got donations from Joyce and Jeff that total maybe $30. I could chip in another $10 and I'm willing to work the booth. Maybe someone else would be interested in paying $10-$15 for the privilege of selling raw goodies or other related products?
