Guest guest
I have been 100% raw for 21 months. I developed a really bad tooth ache recently and asked for help and many of you were kind enough to respond. I finally decided to try to fast since I got to the point where anything I ate or drank caused too much pain. I am now in my 3rd.day (65th hour) and wondering if I should continue. The 1st. day I was just hungry all day. The 2nd. day I was very hungry all day and by late afternoon starting to get really light headed. Even though I had gotten 10 hr. sleep both nights I started to feel like I had a hangover and had not slept in days. By this morning I was so weak I almost passed out when I first got up. I decided to stay in bed all day. I have been drinking plenty of water but every time I get up to go to the bathroom I almost pass out. Everything starts to go black and I have to lay down immediately. My blood pressure is down to 83/51. It is normally 95/67. So, I don't know if that is a concern or not. I fasted years ago for 6 days and never felt this weak. In fact by the 3rd.day then I felt fantastic. My tooth still hurts badly when I water touches it. Should I give it some more time or give up and have the tooth pulled? I am unbelievably hungry. On my last fast I lost the sensation of hunger after day 2. Please help, thank you for any advise. Breezi PS please forgive the double post as I am posting this to raw rawimmortal also
Guest guest
Toothaches are typically a sign of infection. Therefore, fruit or its juice is not recommended. I have second hand knowledge with regard to fasting but I do know that if the feeling of fainting/blacking out is present it is advisable to take some " food " . The best food for any infection is chlorophyll. Green drinks only, particularly grass juices and keep the juice in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Stay on the green drink program until the infection subsides. This could take sometime depending on the infection. Also, I'd recommend three topical mouth treatments: 1) crushed garlic on the infected area around the tooth 2) tea tree oil on the sore area 3) oil of oregano - the most powerful anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-protozoal oil on the planet - apply on affected area Finally, one of the top foods for any infection is mature coconut and its water. So if you are weak coconut will give you the strength you need. Like oil of oregano, coco possess anti fungal, anti viral, anti protozoal properties. regards, joyce no wild animal ever grows old, joyce > " Bob & Breezi Peterson " <bobandbreezi >RawSeattle ><RawSeattle > >[RawSeattle] Fasting advise >Thu, 20 Mar 2003 16:33:48 -0800 > >I have been 100% raw for 21 months. Guest guest
I would add to the previous advice to put white willow bark (preferably in tincture form if you can get it) on the area. White willow is an analgesic, which numbs pain. You should also have a dentist look at it. Fasting won't help your toothache, I would eat if I were you! Guest guest
> Fasting won't help your toothache, I would eat if I were you! I have never fasted for a toothache, but have heard many people recommending it over the years and know that the body has an amazing ability to heal itself when given the chance (water fasting.) Breezi, You mentioned that at one point you decided to stay in bed. It is recommended, that when water fasting, to stay in bed, laying down with your eyes closed, all of the time (other than restroom breaks.) If you are working or doing much labor, that's a no-no, as it requires energy and nutrition, so will interfere with the fast. When you do get up, be sure to do so slowly! If I had the time (vacation time) I would definitely give fasting a chance to heal my teeth! Jeff

If you are working or doing much labor, that's a no-no, as it requires energy and nutrition, so will interfere with the fast. When you do get up, be sure to do so slowly! Good advice, Jeff. I remember when Loren (Lockman) was here he told me that he religiously cautions people fasting at his clinic to get up slowly, or to call for help in getting up for bathroom breaks (the only sanctioned reason to get out of bed!) if they feel light headed. I got the impression it's a normal part of fasting and not something to be alarmed about. Weakness is also a natural part of fasting -- it means the body is directing its energies toward healing rather than outward activity. <<<<If I had the time (vacation time) I would definitely give fasting a chance to heal my teeth! Fasting is most certainly the best thing for a body that is suffering from inflammation of any kind. Intervention may be required in the end, but it is always the best course of action to give the body every opportunity to heal on its own first. Guest guest
> I have been 100% raw for 21 months. I developed a really bad tooth ache ........ Should I give it some more time or give up and have the tooth pulled? When we first went raw three years ago we were told by Victoria Boutenco that tooth decay would not get worse and could reverse on a raw food diet. At that time my three year old son had a couple of small cavities and we had just had a nightmare experience trying to get a dentist to look at his teeth. I decided to leave the cavities and see what happens. Yesterday I took him to the dentist, now 6 years old and three years raw. He needs 6 crowns, three root canals and two fillings. I was shocked. I have found that half the things I learned from Victoria were absolutely wrong. Myths and much misinformation, such as " you never get sick when raw, you only cleanse " or " you never sunburn when raw " . Breezi, go to the dentist and have the tooth taked care of. Guest guest
My friend Tommy healed a stubborn tooth infection after a three day fast under my supervision :-). Maybe it wasn't a very serious tooth problem. He's out of town right now. I'll ask him what kind of tooth problem he had. Guest guest
I just got back on the group after having some computer problems. I can share a small personal experience regarding tooth pain. I have had much dental work in the past and I was having tooth pain that I knew could possible turn into something more serious given my past history. At the time I was about 1 year raw. There was a slight shadow on the tooth in the xray that could have been a sign of infection developing. The dentist offfered to give me a prescription for anitibiodics but I refused. I decided to try something else. I had used crushed clove of garlic mixed with lemon juice twice a day before to help an aliment and decide to try this for the tooth. I was going to be out of the area visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday and upon return if the pain had not subsited I would then reconsider the dentist's alternative. Each day the pain deminshed and by the third day it was gone. Remembering that antibiotics were administered for 10 days I continued with the garlic for about that lenth of time (I think I stopped at 8 because I had the feeling that was what I should do) I have not had any problems since and that has been about well over a year ago. I hope this information will be of help to you. Light and Love Ramona
