Guest guest
Greetings! As many of you know I am the co-founder and webmaster of SoyStache.com, a not-for-profit website which promotes a plant-based diet. We share lots of information with our visitors (35,000 hits/mo) and point them to resources all over the web. Besides my page of Raw Food Links (http://www.soystache.com/rawlinks.htm) I currently have one page about raw food, " Jesus was a Raw Foodist " (http://www.soystache.com/jesus.htm.) I am preparing additional pages on raw foods, including testimonials, so people may gain more understanding of raw food diets from those who are already living raw food lifestyles. Please feel free to share with me your general comments in favor of a raw food diet. (Some of these I may use on our main raw food page.) Please also share with me all the benefits you have received as a result of your transition to a raw food diet. Feel free to include benefits on the way to becoming raw, such as benefits as a vegetarian, and benefits as a vegan, etc. To give you some of my history: While becoming vegan, I overcame high blood pressure (except at high elevations), migraines, gastritis (ulcer), and stopped taking all medications (prescriptions and over-the-counter). Once I went raw I no longer had high blood pressure at high altitudes (7,000+ feet.) Flying is much easier for me now. On descents I used to struggle with equalizing my ears. Now it is no longer a struggle. It is often quite easy. My energy is much more level during the day. I used to feel irritable resulting from some processed foods. That is rarely an issue, now. I've never had an issue with constipation since being raw. As long as I avoid chlorine I no longer get colds or flus (cold-like or flu-like symptoms.) As there are many people in the world searching for " cures " for obesity and are searching for " diets, " I will also be adding a separate web page on the the weight loss benefit of the raw diet and would appreciate your testimonials regarding weight loss, including pounds lost, etc. If you have before and after photos, I'd love to have those, so please send those along. Other future pages will include specific health topics. Possibilities are: High Blood Pressure Cardiovascular Disease High Cholesterol Cancer Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS) Constipation Diarrhea (the " trots " ) Migraines/headaches Colds/Flus Sleep disorders Etc., Etc., Etc. If any of your testimonials fit into these categories, that's great! If not, that's fine too! I'd just like to share what positive experiences you've had. If you feel it necessary to add troubles you've had on a raw diet, so be it, especially if it will be beneficial advice for newcomers to the diet (maybe that'll be a separate page!) Any help you can off would be appreciated. I'm sure this information will be appreciated by web-surfers seeking the info. Please don't be shy. Her documentary "Reversing the Irreversible" has become so popular that she received invitations from film festivals nationwide. She is now working on the remake of this documentary, using high-definition equipment. Please enjoy this five minute video of some of the new testimonials she’s collected so far. Feel free to share this inspiration with your loved ones. Tips for Using Blenders After washing your blender container, always let it sit upside down, to prevent water from getting into the bearings. In my family we simply keep our blender containers upside down at all times. I learned this important tip while visiting the Vita-Mix Corporation. The staff explained that this simple habit could extend the life of the blender at least 50%. Last weekend at a raw food festival, I noticed some chefs struggling with the Vita-Mix lid. Contrary to popular belief, it is really easy to open the rubber Vita-Mix lid. Simply squeeze it above the arrow on the top rim of the pitcher. You may find this arrow on both sides of the container, right above the Vita-Mix logo. It is hard to see but as soon as you find it once, you’ll easily remember where to push. When emptying your blender container, avoid using metal utensils. Use wood or plastic instead. Every time metal touches the blades, they get duller. Is anything missing in the raw food diet? How do chimpanzees eat in the wild? What is green smoothie and what are its benefits? Why is it hard to love greens? What is the nutritional value of greens? Fiber - the magic sponge. What is the significance of stomach acid? How can greens make the body more alkaline? Why is healthy soil more valuable than gold? Click here to order Encyclopedia of Raw Food When I first received a manuscript from Susan with a request to write a forward, I was so busy that I was just going to glance through it, because it was over 600 pages. However, I simply couldn’t put it down and read the whole book in two days. This unique book combines the concepts of raw food eating and Natural Hygiene. What I most like about this book is that the author compiled all current scientific data and different viewpoints into one encyclopedic volume. Susan doesn’t "take sides" on the issues such as vegan/not vegan, 100% raw or not, etc.The author simply presents different points of view and lets the reader decide what is best for them. The 2nd edition of The Live Food Factor has even more information and is now available. You may purchase her book here:www.livefoodfactor.comEnjoy your reading! Rhio’s Excellent New Video Rhio, author, gourmet chef and one of the pioneers of the raw food movement, has sent me a copy of her new DVD, which I watched with great pleasure. In her unique playful manner, Rhio demonstrates preparing raw food dishes from her own cuisine. I find her recipes to be quite different from any others I’ve seen, and I have learned a few tips from this video. Being a raw food leader for at least twenty years, Rhio is as youthful and pretty as ever. She sings cute romantic songs throughout the video, making it fun to watch.
