Guest guest
Christian, please forgive me if I'm misunderstanding your intent here. I've observed a handful of folks, (mostly veg*ns) gloating or joking about Dr. Atkins coma & death. IMO, while many of us totally disagree with his message, it's inappropriate to gloat or joke about the man's death. While many of his ideas were misguided, he meant well & saw it as his life's purpose to eliminate obesity. He was a human being like all of us, & leaves behind loved ones. I think veg*ns especially should be showing a respect for life, even Dr. Atkins life, & not gloating, joking or smiling about his death. mypurchases <Christian_Blackburn wrote: Hi Gang,Today marks the end of a very confused individual's life:http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=YGH32YSPLJULQCRBAELCFEY?type=topNews & storyID=2585484Ironically, Dr. Atkins died of a head trauma on his way to work. Guest guest
Thank you Amy for expressing your sentiments. I agree with you completely. I'll argue against the Atkins diet any chance I get, but his death even had it been diet related I would consider it tragic not a vehicle for jokes. Guest guest
Hi, Nice day isn't it? Having met and talked to Christian I admire his irreverent sense of humor, all the more because it's accompanied by a youthful energy and intensity. In fact, I can't think of anything of anything negative I'd say about Christian. But if I ever do I'll make my comments privately. Trying to keep my list comments positive and cheerful, Nick Hein Renton, WA - Socorro Maia RawSeattle Friday, April 18, 2003 1:47 PM Re: [RawSeattle] Karma Happens --> Dr. Atkins Thank you Amy for expressing your sentiments.
