Guest guest
Eric, Sorry I've been busy and didn't get around to report about the brix level of those Rainier cherries. I told you the Bing cherries were of incredibly high brix, up to 32. There were quite a few I found to have brix level 32, most of them around 25, 26. Those 32's sure taste like candies. The Rainier cherries I got from you although already a couple days after purchase, the brix levels were mostly around 21. It seems to me their quality does not compare to the Bing cherries, as the Rainier rot so quickly. But, if you like the flavor of Rainier that will be your choice. I like red cherries so I only bought red ones at the farmers' market. I bought Rainier from you for my daughter but it turned out she prefers red cherries too. Yesterday I went to Lake City Farmers Market. Lambert have arrived too. They are delicious, you know from last year. Their brix levels now are kind of between the Bing and the Rainier. They are $3 a pound and the Bing cherries are $2/lb. If there are enough people to split a box then they'll be even cheaper. The Bing's have no stems because they were totally tree-riped and they just came off. Helen
