Guest guest
I complement the author of the post about how important our belief system is to our lifestyle of eating all raw food. I am going to print that one out and keep it on file! Today is all raw day 50 for me and I've lost 24 pounds. I have a question related to this comment: > > > > I'm back on raw foods as of > > yesterday - no salt and no oil either. Hey, I have been wondering about elimination of oil. Since I've been all raw I've not been using any additional oil outside of my raw food. I'm hoping I get my essential fats from my daily avocado, a cup of nuts, and from seeds (pumpkin, unhulled sesame, sunflower and of course flax.) I pop my seeds, about a teaspoon each, into a coffee grinder and grind them up and then sprinkle them over my big supper salad. I know flax is supposed to be THE food for those wonderful Omega 3 ESSENTIAL Fats. QUESTION: Is this enough oil to satisfy daily requirements for a busy mother of a big family AND breastfeeding a big five month old baby boy? (Fats in the breastmilk are supposed to be SO important for brain development etc.) Ideally I'd like to buy some really good olive oil, but I can't afford it right now. QUESTION: What kind of olive oil do you guys use? QUESTION: Any other ideas for how to incorporate good oils to add to the nutrition? Hey--do you know what happens when you take oil at night? You wake up oily (early) in the morning! Smile = ) Jenny Silliman Sequim, WA ______________ The best thing to hit the internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Surf the web up to FIVE TIMES FASTER! Guest guest
Hi Jenny, I use Bariani olive oil. According to the folk at the Treeof Life in Patagonia AZ (Gabriel Cousons) it is one of two raw oils. They use is there and the entire menu is raw and wonderful. If you order it directly from Bariani it is not in my opinion very expensive. $15.00 for 33.8 fl oz or 1000ml bottle. Web address is www.barianioliveoil.com. Guest guest
I buy all of my oils from Ritrovo. They are a little mom and pop style importer in Seattle and the only import very high quality, organic, small farm oils from Italy. They usually only wholesale to chef’s and restaurants rather than the general public, but they will accommodate the small orders from folks that appreciate, that type of quality. I think everyone on this list qualifies for that category http://www.ritrovo.com/ On 8/28/03 3:27 PM, " Brenda Renrick " <joysha wrote: Hi Jenny, I use Bariani olive oil.
