Guest guest
OK, maybe not quite a blow-out, but a great weekend none-the-less! On Saturday, September 13th Norm Bader is hosting possibly his LAST potluck (at least at his Bellingham home.) He hosts a mostly raw potluck on his 5 acres (with pond,) and usually includes a campfire and drumming/music circle. We are also welcome to camp-out. It's wonderful to get away from the city and spend some time in the fresh Bellingham air. On Sunday, the 14th, Vancouver, BC is hosting a vegetarian festival, the Taste of Health! I believe Ruth Heidrich is a raw foodist, though she may not promote herself as one. Neal Barnard also supports raw (I don't know how much raw he eats, though.) Vesanto is a nutritionist and has done many events around the Puget Sound, including many right here in Seattle. I understand that on Sunday evening is the Vancouver, BC raw food potluck, which would make it quite a weekend! Of course there is one thing more that would make the weekend complete (at least for me): Sunday morning fresh DURIAN breakfast!!! We could head up early, have some durian and head over to the Taste of Health, then later on to the potluck! Those of us interested can work out car-pooling. I for one will need a ride and need to come back Sunday night, as I work Mon. morning @ 6:30 AM. I told many people at the raw festival about this series of events, so we may make Norm's last potluck quite a party! (hope you're up for it Norm!) Who's up for it??? If necessary I could rent a car for the weekend and share costs. Guest guest
What IS it with you guys & the durian fruit??? I thought it tasted like a blenderized tennis ball. This must be an acquired taste like Vodka or opera. Of course there is one thing more that would make the weekend complete (at least for me): Sunday morning fresh DURIAN breakfast!!! Guest guest
Ahahaha! Acutally, I have only tried it once and thought it was nice a custardy, with a haunting onion taste. I have heard that the onion taste kind of fades to the background in subsequent tastings.
