Guest guest
hey, my name is samantha, and i have been raw for 4 months now, i am 15 years old and love feeling and looking healthy. i will turn 16 in november, and i was wondering if there were any teens in the greater seattle area- (or wherever, i live in kirkland) i am all alone in this raw world, my parents arent raw, so it makes it hard. i go on my library of over 30 books- and the support of my uncle whose raw- but he lives way south far, far away. so if any of you are out there, let me know, i would love to build a support group, or start raw teen events, or even maybe discuss publishing a raw-for-teens book! who knows what could happen! so if you are out there, and want to talk, let me know- thanks so much, and i look forward to hearing from you! in the raw, ```samantha``` sam2dabeach The New with improved product search
Guest guest
Welcome to this list, Samantha! It is sooooo good to hear from you. There is a sprinkling of young people that I know of. Emerald, are you out there? :-) Emmy lives in Bremerton and is quite busy. I haven't seen her for awhile. There are others as well. Can you come to my potluck today? We have lots going on. 1. a raw chef demo 2. Quantum Touch healing demo/discussion 3. New raw bars to taste 4. raw food store with books, videos, and food 5. a raw " market " where folks are invited to sell their wares 6. A hike to lovely Lincoln Park at 3pm 7. A potluck with sometimes 30 people!(5-9pm) This is a great place to connect with like minded folks and to network. I hope to see you today. Guest guest
Samantha, Sergy and Valya Boutenko are raw teens. There was a number of raw teens at the raw food festival. I think most people that are raw are older, but good for you and I encourage you to stick to it and find some people, even if they are older to hang out with. Perhaps you are alot more mature than alot of your peers, and have a aspect of your life under control very early in life. Stick with it and remember that you are a sum total of all that you consume... mind, body and spirit. Guest guest
Hi Sam, and everyone else, This is Eric Farris, the RawSeattle.org webmaster. Even though I'm not a teenager--I'm exactly twice your age :-) (2 x 15 = 30)--and I'm not *the youngest* of the people in the raw Seattle community, I'm *one of* the younger ones. I wanted to tell you--and the rest of our group--about someone close to your age who I just met last night. His name is Christian Bates. He's an 18-year-old guy just starting college at Evergreen, currently focusing on " Trancentental Studies " . He's been vegan for a year, all-raw for half a year. He made a scrumptious dish--tostadas with ground " beef " and toppings. From the discussions we had, you can tell he's pretty into the lifestyle, so I think you two would get along pretty well. Please attend our gatherings, Sam--you would have met Christian last night, plus he and we would have met you! :-) There will be many other chances though, so that's OK. The reason I'm writing this message instead of leaving it up to Christian is that I'm not sure when he'd get around to it, and I'm just excited that he and other young people like Sam are out there. I also believe that connecting like-minded forward-thinking people [people like us raw vegans, he says humbly ;-)], especially young people, will strengthen our common objectives for the benefit of humanity. Is that thinking big enough? No? OK, the universe. :-) If you want to communicate with Christian directly, his e-mail is BatChr10. He put it on the ingredient page for his potluck dish, so I don't believe he'd mind my putting it out on our list here. Am I right Christian? [i told him about this mailing list, so I'm hoping he'll join it and see this message. :-)] Peace, Eric RawSeattle , samantha woolsey <sam2dabeach> wrote: > hey, my name is samantha, and i have been raw for 4 months now, i am 15 years old and love feeling and looking healthy. i will turn 16 in november, and i was wondering if there were any teens in the greater seattle area- (or wherever, i live in kirkland) i am all alone in this raw world, my parents arent raw, so it makes it hard. i go on my library of over 30 books- and the support of my uncle whose raw- but he lives way south far, far away. so if any of you are out there, let me know, i would love to build a support group, or start raw teen events, or even maybe discuss publishing a raw-for- teens book! who knows what could happen! > so if you are out there, and want to talk, let me know- > > thanks so much, and i look forward to hearing from you! > in the raw, > > ```samantha```
