Guest guest
Here's a recent article about raw food. Jeff Sep. 27, 2003. 01:00 AM Actor a big fan of chef's raw food cuisine Marion Kane Renée Loux Underkoffler wipes one hand on her apron, shakes mine with a firm grip and flashes me a gorgeous grin. Tall, tanned and toned, she is living proof that " living foods, " her unusual diet of choice, can do a body good. Underkoffler, 28, is standing at the kitchen counter in a spacious, sunny studio-cum-loft on the second floor of a big old former warehouse adjacent to the vintage Canary Bar and Grill near Cherry Beach. With the help of a young male chef from Liaison College, neatly dressed in chef's whites and working away quietly by her side, she is cheerfully preparing a labour-intensive lunch composed entirely of raw food. Complete with cocktail appetizers, it will be served here for 40 patrons of the Toronto International Film Festival, the annual wingding that had our city in its thrall for 10 days earlier this month.. The meal is a thank-you to these folks for their support. It's also to promote the new documentary Go Further, directed by local filmmaker Ron Mann, which was launched at the fest to rave reviews. Its star is Underkoffler's friend and fellow environmentalist Woody Harrelson, who is to be guest of honour at the lunch.
