Guest guest
I'm experimenting with tapering off everything at once. I'd also like to know if anyone else is doing what I am doing. Since Saturday a.m. I have been abstaining from alcohol, tobacco, sugar, flour, animal products and vegetable fats (like seeds, nuts, olives, avocadoes, and soy products), as well as salt and condiments. I eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables, and nothing else. I eat raw until 5 p.m. and then eat a meal of steamed veggies. I suppose I'm 75% raw. Guest guest
That sounds like a good plan, but I wouldn't throw out the vegetable fats. They will help your transition, as they will give your body dense and concentrated food that it will be craving after so many years of getting nothing but dense and concentrated foods. I ate them in copious quantities for the first year or so, but this isn't necessarily a good plan either. I'd at least keep them on hand for when you feel tempted to eat something bad. Nuts, seeds and avocados can be used to make really satisfying raw dishes that will keep you from straying from your goal. Nora rlmftw wrote: > I'm experimenting with tapering off everything at once. Guest guest
I tried to do what you did sort of - got off all of my prescription meds and went raw food at the same time. Luckily, I had a food coach talked me out of it. I got violently ill. Today I would choose to be kinder to my body. Good luck to you!! > I'm experimenting with tapering off everything at once. Guest guest
Please, anybody, DO NOT EVER quit prescription medicines cold turkey without professional assistance. Depending on the length of time the medicine has been used, a dependency has been built up, and you could risk serious problems and possibly even death by quitting them all at once. Give your body time to adjust gradually to the better fuel you are feeding yourself and your need for prescription drugs will diminish. Still you will have withdrawals and by gradually reducing your intake, the withdrawals will not be as severe. As your body cleanses and gets healthier you won't need prescriptions anymore and (without those poisons) your health will improve. Guest guest
The problems tapering off prescription medicines show us the reason that doctors (who are interested in perpetuation their income) get us hooked on that stuff in the first place. Guest guest
Those of us who are healthy can see the futility of drugging to be healthy, but most doctors believe they are helping others or they wouldn't be in their profession. The problem is that they are brainwashed in their training to oppose the very things that restore people to health. Over and over again those who try to help restore people to health face legal consequences by those opposed to natural methods. Dr. Wright had his offices raided by the FDA in gestapo style a few years ago. Dr. Kline recently of Pacific Health Centers (www.pacifichealthcenters.com) is being sued by the Washington Attorney General Christine Gregoire for six million dollars for alledged violations of the Washington Consumer Protection Act. Dr. Kline in his defense states " We are curious as to why the AG is not going after conventional medicine practitioners (and drug companies), whose iatrogenic mistakes even the Journal of the American Medical Association admits cause 250,000 unnecessary death per year in America (Dr. Barbara Starfield, Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, 7/26/00 issue of JAMA)? The inference from Dr. Starfield's study is that conventional medical treatment is the third leading cause of death in America! " Elaine Feuer has written a book called " Innocent Casualties, The FDA's War Against Humanity. " The sleeve of the book's hard cover states, " To protect the interests of the medical and pharmaceutical industries, the FDA has waged an undercover war against the health freedoms that are every American's constitutional right. By documenting the story of one small company's battle, Innocent Casualties exposes the FDA's efforts to prevent the public from having access to potentially life-saving products. " Let's continue to get the truth out there. Sign the petition that is posted at http://www.petitiononline.com/rawfood/petition.html. Guest guest
I agree. It is in our culture to be all about prescriptions/quick fix. My raw food journey has been one of learning to listen to my body. I never realized that food makes me feel! When I eat something cooked - it is like my body says " And you want me to do what with this? " When I eat raw - it is like my body is saying- " Yes! Yes! Yes!
