Guest guest
Madison Market now has raw food!!! (besides produce) Last time we stopped in, there was shelf space for some raw food in a cooler, but it was empty. I just stopped in tonight and there it was... " Italian Cheeze " from our friends Ani and Edi at SmartMonkey foods in Portland! Though I was starting on my mono journey (again) today, I made an exception to suport Ani and Edi. Their " cheeze " is very tasty!!! It's a bit pricey for the half pint container ($5.79), but worth it. Now, it's back to mono... again. Oh yeah... and I'll be teaching a class on will power... Madison also sells bottled raw Kombucha, which comes in several flavors. They do contain vitamin b-12. Jeff
Guest guest
They also have a very good raw hummus by Livin' Spoonful, also in Portland - both original and sun-dried tomato. The sun-dried tomato went fastest at our house. It likely would be cheaper to make it at home, but, as in anything, we pay extra for the convenience. There are some crackers, nori wraps, and carob balls as well. It's important to support not only the companies that produce the food, but also Madison Market's decision to stock these products. Shelf space in any market is very valuable, and when they give the space to one product, at the same time they exclude another product, and it's a gamble for the store that the new product will sell as well as, or better than, the other product. The hummus is good on my homemade pumpkin seed crackers. Sue Madison Market now has raw food!!! Italian Cheeze " from our friends Ani and Edi at SmartMonkey foods in Portland! Guest guest
I saw the carob balls, but suspected they might not be raw, as they had (I believe it was...) organic oats or was it rolled oats? Anyway, yes it's good to support both the companies and the store. It's also fun to try new foods. I make my own carob balls anyway, so won't likely spend the money for those.
