Guest guest
Count me in for an elbow. BTW, I've used them before by soaking them overnight, risinjg and then grinding up w/ a sweetener or blending them as part of a smoothie. Guest guest
I did some research on raw cacao beans and found non organic ones raw that could be bought bulk. I however did not find any that where organic. I think we as a group should be able to find Rawfoods.com's sorce. Guest guest
Good idea. I suspect we'd need to order a lot more, but it might be doable. I thought of doing the same thing with the " truly raw " cashews. On those, there was no reference on the cashew packages to suggest where they came from. Other companies have had the same packaging, just different details onthe package ( " Natures First Law " vs. others.) I invite people to investigate it. If we can find the source, great. If not, we can see if the cacao beans have any info. Jeff > I think we as a group should be able to find Rawfoods.com's sorce.
Guest guest
Is anyone still selling the raw cacao beans? Janaki Rose
Guest guest
Hi Janaki ~ On April 2nd, Mike Snyder posted a message to the RawPortland group: >I'm still looking for a couple more people to go in on a bulk >order of raw cacao beans, $22.40/lb. plus shipping >http://www.rawfood.com/?item_id=0788 & d=single > He may still be looking for people. I think his email address is snyder68 at hotmail.com. (Since I read the messages on the internet and truncates email addresses for privacy, I can only guess. You could go online and look through past RawSeattle messages to find an email from Mike and then click on his address.) Guest guest
>Is anyone still selling the raw cacao beans? >Janaki Rose I have at least 1 pound from my original order. I have two others that have not been claimed yet. so I may have an additional two pounds. The pound is 23.30 including the shipping costs from Nature's First Law. Let me know if you are interested. I'll throw in my recipe for raw " cocoa " . Jeff
Guest guest
Ahh!! One of those pounds would be mine! I totally forgot! Is your address correct on the Seattle list? I'll mail you a check so you can save it for me and I'll connect with you sometime after the 11th. Okay? Guest guest
Hi, Have tried the beans from NFL. They have skins, and are quite bitter. Oddly, they did make me happy, ate only a few at one " sitting', i.e. not a handful. Also wrapped one if half a date and mauled it around in my mouth for a while, savoring. Hear they're less bitter with skins off. Also put a few in almond milk, or was it sesame. Friend (raw) who ate them says he felt a little high from them.
