Guest guest
Holy Smoke! I just did a Google search on my name and came up with several hits. The one that distressed me the most is from Raw Seattle. There, from the member directory, is every bit of information that I put in about myself (age, gender, address, phone, birth date). This is not safe! How do we fix this? Annette (who now understands how identity theft is so easily done)
Guest guest
Annette, The settings only allow members of the group to view member profiles. At least that is the way it appears from looking at the Management section of a group I moderate. Maybe you were able to view it because you are a member. Guest guest
I have never been asked to sign in or give any sort of password to view the Raw Seattle information on members. And I doubt if it remembers who I am. And Annette has a good point, with all the information on there is just more fodder for the id theives. Orion, are you listening? Thanks, Shari
Guest guest
Mark, I would guess the culprit is: http://rawseattle.org/DBF/ rather than . This is accessible from anywhere, including search engine bots. Some type of password protection on this page could be helpful.... Guest guest
Thank you, David. Yes, I am referring to the member directory on the Raw Seattle web site, not the groups. I realize I was unclear. Given the circumstances, if it isn't possible to password protect the database, I think I would like to please be deleted from it (unless it's already too late since Google seems to pick up old stuff too). Guest guest
ONE of the FORMER Webmasters for RawSeattle.org chiming in here. Mark, Annette is talking about the member directory on RawSeattle.org, not this . I believe the best way to handle this is to make the member directory info password protected. That is, for new people wanting to join our cult ;-), they would request to create an entry in the member directory, and, based on certain criteria, would get approved by the RawSeattle.org Webmaster, currently Orion. If approved, a new member would also get access to the contact info for previous/existing members. What would y'all like to be our acceptance criteria? Discuss freely. Thank ye

Any information concerning a raw life style in greatly appreciated. Henry Counts ericscottfarris <EricScottFarris wrote: ONE of the FORMER Webmasters for RawSeattle.org chiming in here.
