Even before eating all raw, I've been a big fruit eater. That's what

I eat most of the time, plain fruit. That's what I believe humans

are biologically adapted for--mostly fruit, one kind at a time. I

mean, think about it, cows and horses have basically the same natural

diet, right? Based on that, they have the same digestive physiology,

I believe. Now, I heard that a male human is genetically closer to a

male bonobo (another primate species) than a female human (likewise

if you switch the sexes in that statement)! That's a lot closer than

cows are to horses, no? Our digestive physiology is basically the

same as a bonobo, made to eat predominantly fruit like they do. My

statements about genetics constitute just another point--but a more

striking one--in support of the same conclusion. Argument from

authority: Charles Darwin himself said that humans are frugivores.

And if that's not enough, recognize that fruit is the most

instinctively attractive food to us on all sensory levels.

On my mostly-fruit diet, I have never had any problem performing

strenuous activity. On the contrary, I've done some pretty energy-

intense exercise, and I'm much better off when I've been eating only

fruit for a while (or better yet, when my stomach is empty), than

back when I ate cooked, or nowadays if I've eaten anything other than

fruit in the recent time prior to the exercise. I don't know if

you've seen Doug Graham's physique, but I think pretty much anyone

who did would say he has a well-toned musculature, as does his

fiancee Roz Gruben, who I believe follows the same health (including

dietetic) precepts. And Doug is the one who has trained Olympic

athletes, recommending a mostly-fruit diet. I don't believe Cousens

has any such experience working with performance athletes.

....my $0.02 :-)

Reminds me of a guy I know who insists that he has more in common with his

(male) dog than his wife!
