Guest guest
There are whole fresh jackfruits, 3.98/lb, fresh lychees, 3.98/lb, which is probably a good deal. The pulps of the lychees are thick but I wish they would wait till the fruit to be more ripe to pick them. They are sweet though. The fresh longans (dragon eyes) are sweeter, 6.98/lb. I bought some golden kiwis from New Zealand, two for a dollar. They are sweeter than the regular kiwis. I ate the first one that was very ripe, so quick and forgot to check brix level. The second one brixed 17. The above items are in the non-organic section. There are seeded organic watermelons, 48 cents per #, organic peaches 1.98/lb. I don't expect the watermelon to be high brix but it may be enjoyable in these hot days. Peaches are not as good as those from Frog Hollow (not arrived yet) but all right, brix 13. Organic cantaloupes are 78 cents per # ( I think, can't find my receipt.) Helen
Guest guest
Thank you Helen. I always appreciate your fruit reports and brixing numbers. I like knowing if the drive down there is worth it! Keep up the brixing - Shari

Guest guest
The jakfruit at Central are actually selling for the unbelievably almost affordable price of only $2.98/lb.! They will only have whole ones for the next couple days (of which the smallest is 15 lbs, and is already reserved in my name:)). The guy said that they will probably have cut up ones for sale later in the week, but that they are too green to open now. Nora

Guest guest
I got one of the smaller ones last night for ~$46. It's just starting to get the stink! They had a couple of shunks in the cooler area just behind you if you're looking at the fruit. They didn't look so good though. Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to trying this giant thing out! -Heather/starrrie Nora Lenz <nmlenz wrote: The jakfruit at Central are actually selling for the unbelievably almost affordable price of only $2.98/lb.!
