Guest guest
Thank you! Lots of work there, as I'm sure you appreciate. I just noticed that Netscape does some weird things to the opening page, and causes links to not work. Hmm. I guess Explorer is the preferred browser. Guest guest
Cool website, Nora, very colorful, but the very first sentence I have read is simply your misconception. >>> If you’re looking for ways to become a healthier, more vital and confident person, a transition to a raw food diet is essential. This is not true at all. Transition to a raw diet might help, but it’s not essential. I know too many examples of people living healthy and full of energy beyond 100 years old, and non of them was on raw diet. Raw diet might help for those who abusing their body by overeating, and eating low quality food. Love and blessings to you. Guest guest
Viola, Thanks for visiting my site! Just think how much longer those centenarians would be living (and how much healthier, more vital and confident they'd be), if they weren't abusing their bodies by eating cooked and/or biologically unsuitable foods. Norm and Corrie, Thanks for the compliments and suggestions! I've made a little change that better defines the term " raw fooder " as it is used on my site. Any other feedback is welcome, positive or otherwise! Smiles, Nora
Guest guest
I wonder, Viola, why are you on a raw board when nearly all of your responses are negative towards raw? It's hardly constructive criticism to post that one persons opinion is " simply your misconception " when your scientific rebuttal is little more than your own personal experience as well. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person who doesn't appreciate your comments, however I am not trying to be negative myself. I just want you to know that your comments are not helping anybody here. Perhaps another board, more centered in fasting and a low-cal diet would be more suited to your interests? (For example, http://health.Fasting_for_health/) I wish you the best in your health journey, -Heather viola <Viola816 wrote: Cool website, Nora, very colorful, but the very first sentence I have read is simply your misconception. >>> If you’re looking for ways to become a healthier, more vital and confident person, a transition to a raw food diet is essential. Guest guest
Heather, >>I wonder, Viola, why are you on a raw board when nearly all of your responses are negative towards raw? I think Viola is on our list because she IS interested in raw food. I'd like to hear all kinds of opinions. IMHO, any kind of comment is valuable as long as it is presented politely. You don't have to read her comments as being negative. She is merely having doubts about raw diet being essential to health. It's good that she has brought them up on the list and we can see how Nora or others respond on the topic. Attila has asked Viola what are essential to health. Let's hear her out. I rather hear some debates than hearing party lines or a sanitized conversation. They are unrealistic to me. >>It's hardly constructive criticism to post that one persons opinion is " simply your misconception " when your scientific rebuttal is little more than your own personal experience as well. I like to hear personal experiences. Coming from a different environment Viola has different stories to tell. Her earlier comments about American food being tasteless in general is what most immigrants have experienced. My other Russian friends, Chinese friends, my Tai-chi teacher from Beijing complain about the food here being tasteless all the time. Hearing her and other immigrants' comments might help you to realized what the American food factories have done to the food and soil here. Viola mentioned dacha once. Actually the Russian dacha is a very interesting idea for urban people having their own gardens somewhere in the suburban or the countryside. I have been invited to spend a day in my daughter's professor's dacha in Khabarovsk and really enjoyed it. Guest guest
I recommended the low-cal diet board because in the past you have mentioned that the secret to your Vietnamese friends' parents and gradparents longevity was their low-cal diet (eating only a small amount of food.) This board is about a lot more than just eating fruits and veggies. That's my two cents. On a side note, you might be interested in a website that a friend of mine runs: http://www.HowIGainedWeight.com for your son. You're right, I can only be sure for myself. I was out of line. Guest guest
>> what are essential to health I think that NOT overeating is essential to health because overeating is complicating digestion, and there is no way a person can be healthy if his/her food is constantly undigested. This is not low calorie diet. NOT getting emotional (angry, mad, offended, and so on) is essential to health, because emotions are screwing up digestion. I mean a person needs to let go (discharge) emotions and not bottle it inside, but the goal is not to have them on a first place, so you will not have to let go anything. There are some very good books by Louise Hay on this subject in public library. Guest guest
Nora is not saying that a raw diet is the only way, but it is essential. Those who live a long time owe it in part to good heredity, but lifestyle (diet, rest, exercise, etc.) is also important, and cooked food simply does not carry with it the vitality of raw food. Those who live long may not be raw foodists, but they certainly must have some raw foods in their diet. Adding more raw foods into your diet can enhance mental clarity and help a person tremendously in seeing the importance of a healthy lifestyle instead of criticizing it. Guest guest
Dear Whoever, After reading Violas comments, I applaud her for being truthful (as she sees it,) curious, and considerate. How you may think she is negative confuses me when other people on this site can be thoughtless and rude. I think, also, that someone living to a very ripe old age has more to do with attitude and perspective than merely eating cooked or raw food. We are discussing spirit. Someone 105 yrs. old having eaten low amounts of raw food would NOT live another 5 or more years, in my opionion, just because they ate more raw and less cooked. We have built in limits. We may have been designed for all vegan raw fruits but our vehicle for living (body, mind, spirit) is exceptionally adaptive allowing one person to experience things someone else may not. Viola and Nora are both correct.
