After seeing the post about Maggie Mudd's I sent them an email as I'd

heard about their soy ice cream but have never had it. I thought I'd

post it hear for everyone to see.

with refined sugar? Which flavors don't have any refined sugar (if

any)? Are your ice cream cones vegan (including no refined sugar)?

Thanks. Cathy

If you're looking for a non-soy option try this packaged offering from

Turtle Mountain. Berkeley Natural Foods sales the vanilla.

http://www.turtlemountain.com/products/sweetnothings.html

Sweet Nothings® Pints

A fat-free, soy-free, fruit sweetened non-dairy frozen dessert with a

fresh, clean flavor. Creamier than a sorbet,

lighter than an ice cream, Sweet Nothings® satisfies without fat,

cholesterol or dairy ingredients.

Another great option, for those who can find it (they are mostly on the

East Cost.) is OatCream...

http://www.americanoats.com/flavors.html

I get it every time I'm out in Ohio. Great product! I've been trying

to get them into SF/Berkeley stores for years now!

MaggieMudd's response demonstrates detailed knowledge of vegan issues.

I'm particularly impressed with their understanding of the bone-char

filter often used in the sugar refinement process. I will be sure to

spread the word that MaggieMudd is working so hard to accomodate us vegans.
