Guest guest
After seeing the post about Maggie Mudd's I sent them an email as I'd heard about their soy ice cream but have never had it. I thought I'd post it hear for everyone to see. > " Michael Juarez " <mjuarez >Re: Request for More Information >Mon, 28 Jul 2003 19:13:57 -0700 > >MaggieMudd RequestCathy, > >Thank you for your interest in MaggieMudd. > >All of our products are made with refined sugar, although our soy creams are made with refined non-bone char processed granulated sugar. > >We are experimenting with sugars like turbinado for regular vegan ice cream as well as supplements like stevia extract for a line of no- sugar-added vegan ice cream. > >The wafer cones contain no sugar and are vegan. Which flavors don't have any refined sugar (if any)? Are your ice cream cones vegan (including no refined sugar)? Thanks. Cathy
Guest guest
If you're looking for a non-soy option try this packaged offering from Turtle Mountain. Berkeley Natural Foods sales the vanilla. http://www.turtlemountain.com/products/sweetnothings.html Sweet Nothings® Pints A fat-free, soy-free, fruit sweetened non-dairy frozen dessert with a fresh, clean flavor. Creamier than a sorbet, lighter than an ice cream, Sweet Nothings® satisfies without fat, cholesterol or dairy ingredients. Another great option, for those who can find it (they are mostly on the East Cost.) is OatCream... http://www.americanoats.com/flavors.html I get it every time I'm out in Ohio. Great product! I've been trying to get them into SF/Berkeley stores for years now! - chuck On Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at 08:47 AM, catres56 wrote: > After seeing the post about Maggie Mudd's I sent them an email as I'd > heard about their soy ice cream but have never had it. Guest guest
MaggieMudd's response demonstrates detailed knowledge of vegan issues. I'm particularly impressed with their understanding of the bone-char filter often used in the sugar refinement process. I will be sure to spread the word that MaggieMudd is working so hard to accomodate us vegans. mud catres56 wrote: > After seeing the post about Maggie Mudd's I sent them an email as I'd > heard about their soy ice cream but have never had it.
