Hmmm... my only experience with agar agar is in cheezecake! As it's

expensive in the powdered form, I buy it in Chinatown in the long blocks.

I use a food processor to get it into flake form. Perhaps from there you

can use a mortar and pestle or something else to get it into a powder form?

Anyways, someone asked about vegan jello -- on the packet of the agar

agar, there is typically a recipe and it's for " jello " .

The cost for 2 long sticks of agar agar is maybe a $1 (or less if you shop

around). I've seen them in most Chinese food stores in Chinatown, and

also in the Irving / 21st street area.

Cheers,

Tammy
