Guest guest
Dear veg friends, You are warmly invited to participate in what is probably Bay Area Vegetarians last Vegan Food Party (VFP), but only for 2003! For those of you that are new to the group, or missed out on any of the previous VFPs, you're probably wondering.. what is a VFP? It is basically a community gathering where everyone brings delightful vegan food to share. This is a great way to connect with like-minded folks, try different foods/new recipes, showcase or practice your culinary skills and just socialize in a friendly setting. Important Notes: 1) Despite our best cleaning attempts, there will be cat hair lurking (along with the cats) so fyi to folks with allergies. 2) With consideration to our cats, we are limiting the party size. While you're welcome to bring your friends, esp. the non-veg ones!, please do *not* cross-post this invite to other mailing lists. 3) Don't you hate it when you spend 2 hours cooking & cleaning to make a great dish and show up at a party where everyone has brought chips and salsa!? Please follow our standard VFP guidelines to insure a quality food experience for everyone -- see information below for the fine print! 4) We will provide beverages and snack type foods. Y'all just concentrate on the real food! 5) Please feel free to test out that new recipe on us! That type of animal testing is welcome :-) 6) Please RSVP for directions/address for party location in Montara (25 miles south of SF). So bring your veg friends and come join us, or come join us to meet new veg friends.... let's share some yummy vegan food and fellowship! Cheers, Tammy & Chris To insure a fun and food-filled experience for all, we ask that you bring: - your appetite (smile) - vegan food dish to share. each person should bring a dish that provides 6 generous servings. if there are two of you, one dish providing 12 servings works great, too! - **homemade foods are especially encouraged** NOTE: please take some pride & care in your contribution! i should not have to say this, but past experience says i must: there is a difference between six servings of food versus six bite-sized pieces of food. bringing a bag of chips & salsa, loaf of bread, OR a single-serving of a prepared/prepackaged food item is not really what a vegan food party is all about. this is a celebration of the diversity of vegan food so please be creative and plan ahead. if you need ideas for easy vegan foods to make, please email me or ask the list for suggestion. - autographed recipe of your food item (folks may have certain food preferences or food allergies to wheat, nuts, etc) - everything that you need to eat with, and any serving ware needed. please be kind to the earth and do not bring disposables. - this is a Vegan Food Party -- please bring food, not beverages. Definitely *no* alcohol. - family & friends who always ask " What do you eat? " Get the veg vote out!! Vote for your favorite Vegetarian restaurants and be eligible for prizes... http://www.BayAreaVeg.org/contest.htm
