Area

Chris,

In the nomenclature in your guide, what is meant by " vegan friendly "

as opposed to " vegetarian friendly? " Can a restaurant with any cuisine

qualify as

either and/or both?

Hi Michael,

Having 4 veg types is to make it as easy as possible for folks to find the type of veg food they are looking for. The veg types are:

-vegan

-vegetarian

-vegan friendly

-vegetarian friendly

Vegetarian food is a subset of vegan food, so any restaurant labelled as vegan or vegan-friendly will have options for vegetarians, but not necessarily vice versa. Hence, the split categories of vegan & vegan-friendly, and vegetarian & vegetarian-friendly.

At this time, restaurants are categorized as only one veg type.

If you look at the top of the Ultimate Guide, you'll see a glossary button where we have included some standardized definitions of the 4 veg types, and the categories used in UG, or you can use the direct link below.

Ultimate Guide http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/

Glossary http://www.bayareaveg.org/ug/glossary.htm

We hope UG will be useful for folks who are new to the Bay Area or new to vegetarianism, as well as tourists.

Thanks to everyone who has been helping by entering businesses and reviews!

Cheers,

Tammy

What a great resource. Good job! How

about adding a section on veg catering? And on that subject, anyone have any

SF recommendations?

Thanks. :)

Right now, catering falls under the Services category.
