Guest guest
As far as I know, leatherette means fake leather. I wear New Balance sneakers - which I find to be hugely comfortable. They have quite a few styles that have no animal products and some are even made in the US. You can often buy them new off eBay for at least 1/2 price. Guest guest
The ice cream maker is a Cuisinart. I got it on sale (with a coupon I think) at Bed Bath and Beyond for $40. Originally 49.99. For the recipe below, you don't need an ice cream maker...it just comes out creamier with one! Here's the recipe exactly how it appears in How it all Vegan. 2 cups soft tofu 1 cup soymilk 1/2 cup oil 1/2 - 1 cup dry sweetener 1/4 cup cocoa powder 1 tbsp vanilla extract dash of salt In a food processor, blend together all the ingredients until very smooth and creamy. Place in a sealable container and freeze. Remove from freezer and defrost for 20-40 minutes. Place back in the food processor and blend again. Spoon back into container (at this point you can add choc chips, crumbled cookies etc.) Re-freeze. Remove from the freezer 5 minutes before serving. a few changes for my taste: I use chocolate soymilk, I like the way it tastes a little better. I do use only 1/2 C of the sweetener and last time I made it I did forget the salt. Forgetting the salt didn't make any difference. When I use the ice cream maker I blend all of the ingredients in a blender, put it in the refridgerator for at least an hour and then put it in the ice cream maker. (I got the last tip from the Veg News when they did an article on the book Vice Cream) Once the ice cream starts getting thick I add chocolate chips. Hope you enjoy!! Does anyone have a vanilla ice cream recipe? I have one from the Veg News article - (Vice Cream book) but it calls for 2 vanilla beans which are really expensive. I have been putting off trying that recipe. Thanks Kerri - Tuesday, October 05, 2004 5:44 AM Digest Number 976 > > > There are 2 messages in this issue. > > Topics in this digest: > > 1.
