Guest guest
This just in from someone who attended the rodeo exhibition at the California State Fair on Sunday, August 29, 2004: " During the rodeo I saw a bull get seriously injured during that stupid teeter-totter thing they do. The announcer tried to blow it off, but the crowd wasn't buying it. The bull rolled around in agony for quite a while until they dragged it into an 'animal rescue van.' It was going to go to Davis for an evaluation--BULLSHIT! I know a broken back when I see one. Call the Cal Expo people and ask them what happened to the bull injured on Sunday night. " Last Sunday's performance was the last rodeo night at the Fair, though the Fair itself continues through September 6. This guy is a good friend, and knowledgeable. The promoter of the Fair's " Barrels and Bulls " is Cotton Rosser, of Flying U Rodeo out of Marysville. That stupid " cowboy teeter-totter " is the same contraption which caused the death of yet another rodeo bull at the Grand National Rodeo in San Francisco three (?) years ago. That one died of a broken neck after crashing into the metal basis of the machine (a four-seater see-saw affair). The Grand National has since banned the teeter-totter at the Cow Palace. The State Fair should do likewise--demand that they do. (Remind them, too, that Mr. Rosser put on an illegal " bloodless bullfight " at the State Fair a few years back, not long after he had pulled a similar stunt at the Grand National at the Cow Palace.) Perhaps his contract with the State Fair should be cancelled. Rodeo Co., is on the Fair Board, and is a good friend of Cotton Rosser. Cheers, Eric Mills, coordiinator ACTION FOR ANIMALS
