There's been a lot of good points brought up already. I'd like to add a few more to think about... How were the animals bred or captured? Other considerations would be travel and living conditions, or what happens to the animals when they are too old to perform. (Does the business that owns them send them to a sanctuary to live out their lives in happy retirement?)
