Letter Writing Parties (please read and help!)

Hi folks,

If you are working on an issue that needs some letters, Bay Area Vegetarians has a monthly letter writing party (LWP) where we write letters to support vegetarianism, as well as compassionate treatment to animals. We are handwriting personal letters at our LWP. I think each person generally writes between 5 and 12 letters. This varies based on the topic as well as the individual. Our LWP are great for new or experienced letter writers to put their compassion in action!

So, if you have a topic that needs attention, OR if you agree that the pen is mightier than the sword and want to help the animals, please keep reading...

While there are a plethora of issues out there needing letters, we would like to support and work with other local individuals and organizations on their campaigns to help animals (especially if they are local, as our letter writers tend to be local folks too).

If you'd like to send us information for our next letter writing, here's what we need:

- short write-up on the issue (please include key points in the summary)

- individual contact information for the issue (who to write -- name, U.S. mailing address)

- reference website for the 'source' info (in case we have questions)

Our LWPs are at MaggieMudd, an ice cream parlor in SF Bernal Heights neighborhood that has an excellent selection of vegan ice creams. Robin is organizing a second letter writing party this month on a Saturday. So if you haven't been able to make our 3rd Thursday LWPs, show your support for a Saturday one by attending this month.
