Guest guest
it seems that you're wrong on this. prop 71 say will set aside $3 billion for human embryonic stem cell research grants. animals may have stem cells too, but this entire branch of research is specifically about human cells. read the actual text of the proposed law. everything it talks about is related to human stem cells. i even searched for the word " animal " in my pdf viewer, and nothing comes up. everything is about human testing and human cells and human subjects. http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/bp_nov04/prop_71_text_of_proposed_law.pdf this is one medical research issue that the veggie and animal rights community should stand behind. stem cell research has the potential to end much of the " essential " animal research that vivisectionists claim is necessary for human objectives. The proposition did not mention " human " stem cells. Other animals have stem cells, too. It is quite obvious that a large number of animals will suffer as an excuse for researchers to get more grant money. The proposition is very poorly worded and very vague as to allow for the possibility of more stupid experiments on animals. Again, if this were really a step towards the right direction, the proposition would surely highlight that human-based research is the key to human cures, but it does not even mention that fact. So you be the judge. If you wish to see for yourself, please go to: > http://www.ss.ca.gov/elections/bp_nov04/prop_71_entire.pdf > > Again, I strongly advise you all to vote NO on Prop. 71. I do not trust it nor the supporters of this proposition. Please do not be fooled like I was. > > Sincerely, > Michelle > > > > > > Y! Messenger - Communicate in real time.
