Guest guest
Does anyone have a sucessful reciepe for vegan marshmellows? I have tried using Hain's vegan jello but it didn't work. I have been buying vegan marshmellow, but I am told that they are fun to make. Lynn

Guest guest
The Herbivore list had a discussion about this last year: Herbivore/message/3956 I think the Emes gelatin is the key - I've tried marshmallows with agar-agar and they didn't turn out very good (although some of that may have been user error). I haven't found Emes locally, only seen it online (although I hear it might be available at Berkeley Bowl). -Kim On Fri, 28 Jan 2005, lcifor wrote: > Does anyone have a sucessful reciepe for vegan marshmellows? Guest guest
Don't sweat making them, just order vegan marshmallows from Pangea ( http://www.pangeaveg.com/ ); they are worth the price and melt in cocoa and s'mores; though I have yet to bake with them. There is also a confection marshmallow made in Mass. and available at Whole Foods locally. I can not remember the name but they are in the confection/baking aisle and come in a chocolate variety that is quite good, albeit expensive. Shelley Shelley M.
