Guest guest
Recently someone here was asking how you find vegan items at non-veg*n restaurants. If the Noah's example was not proof enough, I think this email has convinced me that the best way to know for sure is to write an inquiry to corporate. I'm saddened to learn that the black bean burger I've been assured of by the staff at Chili's is not vegan, after all. However, heartened by their responsiveness, I will be sending them a letter assuring them that veg*ns would be very appreciative of more options other than salad, black beans, steamed veggies, and corn tortillas. Below is the response I received from Chili's regarding the items that are and those that are not vegan. Perhaps Tammy and Chris can start a section on their website for other restaurants responses as I'm sure this information is probably of great use to some and of no interest to others. If you happen to be in the latter group, I apologize for spam. Guest guest
" Perhaps Tammy and Chris can start a section on their website for other restaurants responses as I'm sure this information is probably of great use to some and of no interest to others. " Hi Matthew and everyone The mailing list is great to get a wide audience for info, but finding it the next month or even a year later is very difficult (which why long-time rs often see the same discussion crop up every now and then) What may be an easier way to store information like this, and allow folks to add additions easily, is to start it as a new topic in the discussion forum that we host on our site. The discussion forum (aka 'bulletin board') offers a different "category" for each discussion, so discussions stay threaded in that category, and it makes it easier to follow to find the information again. Perhaps this would be a good starting point to store responses from restaurants. Matthew, if you would like to start the discussion thread, you'll need a useriod on BAV (same userid used to post reviews in Ultimate Guide). If you don't have one yet, it's free and only takes a couple of minutes to register. http://www.BayAreaVeg.org/forum Oh! And in each forum, you can choose to "watch" the forum for new posts or replies, and it will send you an email anytime someone posts something new. In this way, you can follow what you are interested in.
