Guest guest
Hello Our Veg friend Bobby Shannon from Concord who many of you may know from BAveg campouts and potlucks and hikes is in Sub-Saharan Africa teaching with the Peace Corp. I received a nice airmail note from him yesterday. He gives his friends Web site as a way to see where he is at: http//:www.nathanieltishman.com I am posting Bobby's address in the hope that some of you may want to Pen-Pal with him and say hello. He writes that he's trying to stay vegetarian, but that it's difficult there. He says that farm animals frequently walk through his classroom during a lesson!! He is one of seventeen volunteers teaching there. He's trying to become familiar with the produce and cooking techniques in Chad. There's a lot of okra, onions, tomatoes, peppers,a weird variety of eggplant, awesome cucumbers, carrots, bananas, oranges and limes and sometimes watermelon. If you have recipe ideas using those veggies perhaps that would be a good way to say hello. Or perhaps some of you have served in the Peace Corps or would like to- I'm sure Bobby would appreciate your questions and attention form home. He says he would love a letter from anyone! Please lick a stamp today and write him if you can!
