Please do not buy them at all until they stop using animal products. This is an excellant opportunity to educate the little girls and their families. send them to a website. I previously recommended www.milksucks.com but are their others that don't sound so bad?

The Girl Scouts use two different bakeries for their cookies. I'm not sure which bakery our troops here in the Bay Area use, but it wouldn't be difficult to find some girls selling cookies (they're on every block these days!) and just look at the side of one of their boxes."ABC/Interbake" has two flavors that are vegan: Iced Berry Piñatas and Reduced Fat Lemon Pastry Cremes.http://www.girlscoutcookiesabc.com/The other company is "Little Brownie Bakers" and none of their cookies are vegan.http://www.littlebrowniebakers.com/Update: there is a box of Thin Mints in my office's kitchen, provided by "Little Brownie Bakers", so maybe that's the Northern California distributor? Anyway, LBB doesn't make the two vegan flavors, so

you wouldn't have to worry about getting a non-vegan box of Reduced Fat Lemon Pastry Cremes or Iced Berry Piñatas.-Kim, formerly troop 595 :-)On Mon, 7 Mar 2005, amelia tetterton wrote:> I just did a search for "vegan girl scout cookies" and> found this link to what looks like a peta forum.> http://216.197.111.89/public/folder_view.cfm?pageid=341 & option=view_thread & postid=1082109 & folderid=5338> I would also see if there are any numbers on the> cookie packages that you could call. Sorry, but I am not going to boycott every company out there that uses

animal-derived ingredients in their products, just as I don't eat at

exclusively vegan restaurants or shop at grocery stores that only sell

vegan products.

You of course are free to do whatever you want.

It is not so much to Girlcott them...it is more a way to open the door for further education. The little darlings can learn through this. If we are kind, from the heart, polite this will leave room for thought....

....not only about the food aspects but the wonderful rights we have in this country of the democratic process of boycotting, free speech, etc.
