Guest guest
Hey everyone Just wanted to try and get you all psyched on attending some of the great events local groups have planned in the days surrounding the Great American Meatout March 20th. From the EBAA feed-in at a Wendy’s in Oakland to BAV’s leafleting in San Francisco, to IDA’s Canadian Seal Protest today in SF that likely just wrapped up as I write this to HRS’s Easter Rabbit Open House in Richmond, and more, there’s a lot going on in the next week. Get out and support the animals! Better yet, get out and support the animals AND document your actions for the Bay Area and the world to see. Bring along a camera and post your shots on Indybay. Indybay is an open-publishing site dedicated to making you, the activist, the reporter. No experience required. If you can email photos to a friend, you’ve got what it takes to publish news to Indybay. Just take some pictures of whatever event(s) you are attending, do a little write-up on your experiences, and publish them to Indybay’s Animal Liberation “newswire” by going to http://indybay.org/publish.php. Don’t worry if the event was relatively small or someone else has already put something up from the same event. At Indybay, it’s always the more the merrier with demo pix (and if you don’t believe me, check the homepage after this Friday’s anti-war events). A good center column feature on Indybay can tie together several separate newswire posts for a broad perspective on events. Do feel free to ask me for help should you ever need it. If you make the newswire posts, as an Indybay site editor, I will turn them into center column features on the Animal Lib page to further hype your work. Here’s some recent examples: Newswire post with photos at http://indybay.org/news/2005/03/1726760.php became Animal Lib center column feature at the top of http://indybay.org/animalliberation/ http://indybay.org/news/2005/02/1723894.php became this center feature: http://indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2954 & category_id=58 http://indybay.org/news/2005/02/1723141.php became http://indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2923 & category_id=58 http://indybay.org/news/2005/02/1722539.php became http://indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2913 & category_id=58 (this one has audio, too) http://indybay.org/news/2004/12/1708372.php (with video) and http://indybay.org/news/2004/11/1707532.php became http://indybay.org/archives/archive_by_id.php?id=2683 & category_id=58 Now it’s your turn! Be the media! I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful photos and the reports on your activities over the next week or so. Thanx Peace, David http://indybay.org/animalliberation/
Guest guest
hello again Having just gotten back from a successful East Bay Animal Advocates feed-in in downtown Oakland, I just wanted to reiterate the importance of everyone posting some reportbacks and/or pix from all of the events out there over the last few days for the Great American Meat-Out. Indybay is an open-publishing site meaning that anyone with " news " can publish to the newswire, be it a personal report on an event, photos, video, and/or audio. It's really easy and you do not need to know any HTML. And don't worry if somene else has already posted a report or photos from an event you attended. It's always the more the merrier at Indybay, and more perspectives of the same event enrich coverage of it (just see the anti-war coverage on the home page from yesterday -- there's at least 22 postings of photos at http://www.indybay.org/). I will be posting photos from the Oakland event myself shortly. As a site editor, I will then start putting together a center column feature at the top of http://www.indybay.org/animalliberation/ on the Meat Out and it would be awesome to have other newswire posts from other events to link to. Big or small, post your events to the newswire so that I can include them in the center column feature. Also, note that a reporter from KPFA turned out for the East Bay Animal Advocates feed-in and interviewed those who came across our table, so be sure to listen to 94.1 at 6pm tonight. It might be archived for later online listening. peace, david http://www.indybay.org/animalliberation/ David Morse Tue 3/15/2005 1:52 PM David Morse Bring Your Cameras to Upcoming Demos (and post pix to Indybay) Hey everyone Just wanted to try and get you all psyched on attending some of the great events local groups have planned in the days surrounding the Great American Meatout March 20th.
