Guest guest
Hi Tammy, I assume that you have already found a place for the pigeon, but just FYI, Wildcare in San Rafael (where I've volunteered for a long time) does NOT routinely euthanize or refuse to accept pigeons as some other wildlife rehabs do. Obviously we would euthanize a pigeon if its injuries were untreatable (as we would with any animal) but we take them all and most make it. In some small way, I am attempting to share some of what I find interesting as I progress down the road. To me, it's a bit like a walk in a wonderful enchanted forest, and I point out things that I find/found interesting both on the path, and off! and I even provide roadsigns to the forest, if you'd rather visit yourself! Which leads me to one of my favorite topics: how we learn, and how we can learn from each other. I, for one, am a firm believer that all learning does not have to be " experiential " - meaning that I don't personally have to experience something to gain knowledge about it. If I post something that I found interesting, or had meaning for me, each person reading it then gets to decide if any of it feels like it might fit for them. Since I dwell frequently in the NH world, I find most, if not all, of the " suggestion " /the " Burma Shave " roadsigns, useful, and thus far, few, if any, of them HARMFUL! Meaning, that I'm not likely to get hurt incorporating most of this NH knowledge (especially if it comes from one of the acknowledged authorities on NH, HM Shelton). This, for me, is diametrically opposed to my experience with, and knowledge of, classical " medicine " - whereby we normally " start " with the ingestion of a known poison, and proceed to removing/replacing body parts. (reminds me of the auto repair business: R & R repair and replace...yup...car parts and body parts...eveyone's a mechanic! lol!) thanks again. all the best, Bob

Guest guest
I agree Shirley, I have found great support here too. People that understand because we have some very fundamental things in common. I do not even remember how i found this group. I have not been involved with previously, I just seemed to happen upon it really. I think it was meant to be, because I have already learned a lot. Thanks everyone, Shelly Shirley <mybluerat wrote:By the way, I am touched by all of the heartfelt support and warmth from this group to those who post thier problems.
