Guest guest
Hi, I"m working on a paper on feminist perspectives on vegetarianism and would like to hear from anyone who has personal experiences (both pro and con) on the subject. I am particularly interested in hearing from those who have experiences with feminists who defend meat-eating, and the reasons that they give for their views. I also welcome experiences from femininist conferences and any viewpoints of promininent feminist writers, activists that you have encountered. Thanks, Marti
Guest guest
While it seems like you are looking for personal accounts/anecdotes, I thought I’d pass on a mention of these two books by Carol Adams. Odds are, you’ve already read them or at least seen them, but I just wanted to be sure. http://akpress.com/1996/items/sexualpoliticsofmeat http://akpress.com/1996/items/neithermannorbeast peace, david On Behalf Of Meridiana246 Friday, April 29, 2005 2:23 PM feminist responses to vegetarianism? Guest guest
Hi Marti, In addition to the books David suggested, these are also good. The first two are pro-animal, and contain collections of essays from diverse authors. The last is anti-veg. Animals & Women, ed. Carol Adams & Josephine Donovan Beyond Animal Rights, ed.
