In regards to lunch & split pea soup -- I would just like to add that another alternative might be to make a batch of your own split pea soup, freeze it in small containers, and then take it to work with you. This has the potential to eliminate using any disposables, it's cheaper, and you control the cost/quality of the ingredients used. I'm assuming most offices have a microwave in their kitchen; you can always bring a regular ceramic dish to heat the soup in if you want to avoid microwaving in plastic.

The recipe that I like is a simple one from Peaceful Palate -- all you need is the ability to chop and some simple directions:

When we make this, we'll usually double it so we have leftover to freeze.

Just as a FYI, the recipes that we include in the monthly BAVeg newsletter are usually personal favorites (which means it tastes good and is usually simple to prepare).

Cheers,

Tammy

Yes, yes... :-) I do actually bring my lunch the majority of the time,

but once or twice a month I'm stuck and an SF Soup location is right

around the corner from my office.
