Guest guest
Dear Circus Leafleters: I want to thank each and every one of you who came out to leaflet at Ringling Bros. Circus this summer. By coming out you gave a voice for the animals and raised awareness about why they should not be used for entertainment. THANK YOU. We (thankfully) had a good turn out of activists - with dozens of people coming out to each of the three Bay Area venues (Oakland, San Jose and Daly City) where Ringling Bros. performs. Please let me know if you have any questions. As you know, leafleting is one of the most effective ways to educate circus patrons (our target audience) about the animals' plight. If you weren't able to join us this year but wanted to, we look forward to seeing you next year (Ringling always comes in mid-August through Labor Day). Thank you again. Deniz PS - This year for the most part the media refused to cover the animals' side of the circus issue. Instead mainstream stations such as KRON, KGO, KPIX, NBC-11, SF Chronicle, SJ Mercury, etc did only promotional pieces on Ringling. The exceptions were KTVU-TV (FOX) and KPFA radio. In case you haven't already seen this wonderful eye-opening piece on Ringling .. http://www.ktvu.com/video/4936923/detail.html Please let KTVU know you appreciate this type of substantive and investigative piece. The five-minute-long KPFA segment is online at http://www.kpfa.org/archives/index.php?arch=9849 & page=2 & type=news (it's at 23:30 minutes - near the end of the broadcast) Also - please express appreciation for this in depth report on the circus issue.
