Guest guest
> If anything, we should be actively supporting the sale of fake fur, even buying it ourselves, to promote it as a viable and marketable replacement to killing animals. This is an interesting suggestion. I can understand the economic reasoning behind this. But, would wonder whether wearing a faux fur (that looks like a real fur) would seem have a negative impact of promoting wearing fur. I was at Target recently and they had coats that were entirely faux fur as well as faux fur trim (removeable). Is this wear that PETA patch comes in handy, "Fake for the Animal's Sake" ? Guest guest
My perspective on this is that fake fur is no different than wearing fake leather shoes, sold at places like Moo Shoes or Otsu, or eating fake meat, or drinking creamy soy milk available in store bought cartons. The PETA patch would definitely help with activism efforts. You could say "hey look, a fake fur product that looks just as good, and is just as warm - it costs less, and no animals had to be murdered. Why are you still buying real fur?"On Dec 13, 2005, at 8:12 PM, Tammy, Bay Area Vegetarians wrote: > If anything, we should be actively supporting the sale of fake fur, even buying it ourselves, to promote it as a viable and marketable replacement to killing animals.
