Guest guest
I believe the Cancer Project is formerly a project of the Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine and has become a separate non-profit. There are already classes happening in Oakland, Colleen is teaching them and it looks like they're monthly. (I believe these are separate from the classes she offers via Compassionate Cooks) http://www.cancerproject.org/ I know Patti (in Marin) has also offered her cooking classes free to people who cook for cancer survivors. I think Patti's classes happen less frequently though (maybe quarterly?) Hopefully some local person will step forward so SF residents can take advantage of this opportunity! Thank to Bonnie and Winnie for sharing this information. Cheers, Tammy Bay Area Vegetarianswww.BayAreaVeg.org
Guest guest
That's right, Tammy. They're looking for someone to teach in San Francisco. I do the 8-week courses every week (a new course is starting in February - see http://www.cancerproject.org/resources/classes/oakland.php) in Oakland. They're virtually plug-in courses (The Cancer Project has made it very easy!), so if you have good knowledge of food and nutrition, it's a great opportunity. - Tammy, Bay Area Vegetarians Saturday, December 31, 2005 10:05 AM Cancer Project / cooking classes (was: Veg Cooking InstructorS wanted-Nationwide!)
