Guest guest
I just went through the ordeal of trying to find a long non-wool, non-down coat for a trip to Boston last month. After searching just about everywhere, I ended up with a knee-length "WeatherEdge" coat from Eddie Bauer, made of nylon and polyester. The lining/insulation is made of polyester. It's not as heavy as down, but our cruelty-free choices are limited, so it worked good enough, with a few layers underneath. Try an Eddie Bauer store because it doesn't look like they have long WeatherEdge coats online. They have waist-length WeatherEdge jackets online it looks like. Guest guest
also try LL Bean. I have a synthetic poly parka from there that is rated for -10. You can review their outerwear on-line, and specifically look for the amount of warmth you need.
