Hi folks!

Just had another lovely dinner there yesterday (thank you to Peggy for organizing & hosting!). This is Bay Area Vegetarian's third dinner there, and it's been getting about 16-18 people steadily every month.

Happy to report that last nite, the restaurant was nearly full! It was great to see this, as Chris and I have gone other times (mid-week or lunch on the weekend) and been the only customers. If you haven't tried it yet, or you have friends that live in the San Mateo area, please check it out.

Vegetarian Gourmet is in San Mateo on the outskirts of downtown, very easy street parking (it's free), easily accessible by Sam Trans bus, and even CalTrans if you enjoy walking. Good choice for people who like faux meats, and also ample selection for those who don't. More info and see other customer reviews:

If you've been there and enjoyed it, please post a review for them in the Ultimate Guide! If you're new to posting reviews, it's very easy, and fun to do.

We talked with Yaping (the owner) and she says all the faux meats there are now vegan. But, whenever you're at a restaurant, I think it's always good practice to ask anyways -- as suppliers do change, and it just reinforces to them that there is a demand for vegan foods :-)

Oh, and the dinner happens on the 3rd Friday monthly. But if you want to grab a seat, here's the evite -

"This is my protest against the conduct of the world. To be a vegetarian is to disagree--to disagree with the course of things today. Starvation, world hunger, cruelty, waste, wars--we must make a statement against these things. Vegetarianism is my statement and I think it's a strong one." -- Isaac Bashevis Singer
