Guest guest
As some of you might be painfully aware, the Berkeley radiostation KPFA is in a fund-drive mode. And someone not so long ago complained that veg *n cause does not get proper exposure on that station, despite the fact that they must have higher ratio of veg listeners then average mainstream media outlets. And guess what. The Morning Show announced that they do not have any food donor, no morning munches, nobody to thank on during the show for the delicious food. I'm not sure if the same for other parts of the day. Maybe we can fix that in our own selfish way. I'm always donating that station but I would be glad to donate some money to local veg eatery or a willing good cook, to supply them with that delicious veg alternative. Nothing beats supporting local veg establishments and help local radiostation and promote veg food on that radio. Trifesta! Anyway I have no space to add more books that I buy from them. So, any takers: 1) To help me find local (Berkley or Oakland or ...) food supplier. 2) Join me with donating to this promotion of and " food revolution " ? Sergei. Guest guest
I think this is a GREAT idea!! I wish I could volunteer to make them something, but I'm out of town for a week. What if BAV paid for vegan brunch from Fellini's one day? I would be very happy to donate to BAV to help make this happen, and if Fellini's (or any good veg place) would deliver, then the whole thing could happen via phone and BAV would be mentioned on KPFA. Thanks Sergei-- Alex On Behalf Of falt93_sergei Tuesday, January 24, 2006 2:24 PM Morning show, veg food and publicity. Guest guest
" As some of you might be painfully aware, the Berkeley radiostation KPFA is in a fund-drive mode. " Would like to suggest than another option is to get a group of BAVEG folks together to help answer the phones; that'd also get the group mentioned on the air. Sergei, thanks for the great ideas and enthusiasm around this! Guest guest
To all interested to contribute in any way to this initiative, Please go for more details to FORUM on bayareaveg.org: http://www.bayareaveg.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=680 The first food donation is set for this Friday. I expect them to thank " Bay Area Vegetarians " on Friday on air a few times during the day. Donations for the second food delivery are coming. That and a possible group volunteering to help them with fund-rising will be discussed on the forum. Thanks, Sergei.
Guest guest
From a member of KPFA's staff... Thank you very much for your generosity. The phone room volunteers will be delighted. Guest guest
Not for breakfast, but I totally recommend Flacos ... for catered vegetarian mexican food in Berkeley, CA ... http://www.flacos.com/menu.html The food is 100% vegan and INCREDIBLY delicious, even my omnivore friends say so! Great idea, and good luck! -Rachel , " falt93_sergei " <falt93_sergei> wrote: > > As some of you might be painfully aware, the Berkeley radiostation > KPFA is in a fund-drive mode.
